July was a fun month. My brother Ryan and sister-in-law Jayme and their boys were in Utah over the 4th and the week after so we tried to all get together as much as possible. We spent the 4th up in Logan at my little brother Tyler's new house. His wife, Anna, works at the Willow Park Zoo so we got to go there with a guided tour by Anna. We got to get up close and personal with some birds and animals.

Then we had a yummy dinner and then dessert and fireworks. It was a fun day.
We all got together on the following Monday at Lagoon! That was so fun. We left Lucy with Jayme since she loves snuggling her and she was staying home with her littles. Lily had a blast. She said she liked it better than Disneyland. They even had Dole Whips like Disneyland--yummy! We had a great day together.
Later that week we all went to a jump place in Kaysville called "Get Air" and then ate some pizza together and watched Jackson play in his Allstar game.

We celebrated Lucy's, Kash's, and Bentz's birthdays that week as well in an "Are Ye A Pirate or a Mermaid?" party. Jayme, Holly, and I had fun planning for it. We were going to go swimming at Aunt Joan's but then the day of the party it was rainy and cold so we moved it to my mom's church and came up with some last minute games to play instead. Of course as soon as we're all set up at the church the weather warmed up but it still turned out to be a very cute and fun party!

We had lots of delicious themed food. My mom made chicken salad "crabwiches" and Renee made Spinach "seaweed" dip. We had a shark attack watermelon, seashell pasta salad, mermaid spinach salad, coral (grapes), fish and chips, "sushi" (swedish fish), oyster pearls, and yummy mermaid and pirate cupcakes.

We played "bobbing for ducks" where the kids got pirate and mermaid rubber duckies out of a small pool of water with their mouths or cups. We played a game where they threw little plastic fishes into cups, and we played a canon ball game where the kids popped black balloons and got a prize. We also had plans to do a mermaid race but ran out of time.
Lucy eating her cake was pretty funny and cute. I don't think she ate very much but she had fun spinning around in a circle on her bum and sticking her foot in it. She had blue frosting all over her- except for her face haha!
The next day was warm and sunny so my family all went to Aunt Joan's to have a make up swim day. It was so fun to have a private swim party. Aunt Joan is so generous to share her pool with us!
The next week we started swimming lessons at the Scera Pool. Our whole little family was in the parent and child class. My friend Shani was in it too with her little boy Trey and her daughter was in the 3 year old class with my nephew Bentz. It was fun to all be in the same class. Michael usually had Lucy and I usually had Lily. The first time she was pretty ornery in the water but as the lessons progressed she got comfortable and had a great time. Lucy loved it the whole time. We actually had a really good teacher this time too!
The last day of swimming lessons we celebrated their graduation by getting some snocones.
Michael and I got to bounce back to Lagoon with Kim, Reynie, Ryan and Emmy. My parents watched our girls for us. It was a blast! I even went on the new ride Cannibal. It was scary but mostly fun!

We went to Aunt Joan's pool again with Brad and Amber and their kids one night and just had pizza delivered and then went and got snocones. It was a fun summer evening!
Lucy's real birthday:
We started the day by having a photo shoot with Holly at Provo Orchard. She got to smash some more cake. She didn't really want to though but she was still adorable. We put her slide together and she and Lily had fun playing on it all day and still play on it all the time. Later that day we went to the park and celebrated Blake's birthday!
Pioneer Day was celebrated in style at Craig and Renee's house. We had a very patriotic table with lots of yummy food then the kids played some fun water relay games and water volleyball and they had fun coloring with chalk and painting with water. The kids did an estimation jar of gumballs (Ryan won as usual) and the adults did a quiz about the pioneers that Emmy won (go team Sandoval)! Her 4th grade state history paid off. We had delicious home made ice cream and also celebrated Ryan's birthday as well. It was another great day.
On the 28th I took Lily to the ear doctor and one of her tubes has fallen out. They just wait and see if she gets any more ear infections. Hopefully she's outgrown getting them so much. After her doctor's appointment I took her on a mommy/daughter date so see Minions. She has been anticipating this movie for like a year watching the previews over and over. It wasn't a great movie but she was cackling and giggling most of the time so that made it fun. After the movie I asked her what her favorite part was and she answered, "The minions part!" so I guess the whole movie??
Later that day Lucy had her 1 year check up. She was 18 lbs. 11 oz (30%), 29.25 inches long (48%). She had to have 2 shots so she was up with me most of the night and ended up sleeping with me in our bed. She is not very good with shots :(
Lucy is a crazy baby now. She crawls every where lightning fast and climbs up on everything. She stands alone and will even take a step and lunge towards you. I just hope she doesn't start walking until after we get home from our Kauai trip!!! Lucy is still such a sweet snuggle bug and she is always giving us kisses now too. She is obsessed with my hair and is always holding it and rubbing it on her nose and mouth. She loves: her stuffed lion, her baby doll, tackling her sister, crawling around next to her sister, giving kisses and high fives, feeding herself, watching baby signing time, pulling hair, cruising around the house, eating everything in sight and not in sight off the floor, and getting into our cupboards and drawers.
Lily has grown up a lot lately too. We gave all of her bottles and Lucy's bottles away to another baby! We are completely bottle free at our house. She is talking a lot more and since she isn't constantly drinking she is able to stay "clean and dry" and go on the potty a lot better. Its really going to be weird when she is in preschool and dance lessons this fall and we can't just do whatever everyday. Her new favorite thing is for us to tell her stories and for her to help make up the characters and what they look like. She is so fun! She is always dancing and twirling around the house and imagining things. Her favorite things right now are: donuts, pringles or as she calls them (Elsie Chips), playing with Lucy, helping mom exercise (she does some pretty good yoga moves), drawing, playdough, having dad lay on her bedroom floor with her and tell stories and make up songs, climbing up mom and onto her shoulders when she least suspects it, and going swimming.
On Wednesday, July 29th we went to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. Lily was terrified of the tunnel with stars but enjoyed everything else. Teachers get in free and can get one other person in free so we only had to pay for Lily. Otherwise we would only be going on $2 Tuesdays or something! But for $12 total it was definitely worth it :)
Later that night we went up the canyon with Brad and Amber and their trio of Lily's best friends for some yummy tinfoil dinners and s'mores. Michael and I drove up to Tibble Fork Resevoir with our girls first to throw some rocks in the water and look at chipmunks. Its so nice to have that gorgeous canyon pretty much in our backyard!
That concludes July! I can't believe our summer is almost over. August is going to be amazing though with our 10 year anniversary Kauai trip!!!
