Spring Break!

It was so nice to have Michael home with us for Spring Break. It was a nice little teaser of what Summer will be like. He let me sleep in a few of the days! I felt very spoiled.

On the Friday the last day before the break Michael brought home this poster that his students made for him. I guess they think he is really Adam Levine, the lead singer of Maroon 5 and the guy on The Voice. He just wears long sleeves to cover his tatoos :)

The first part of the break was all about Easter. You already read about all of that. But it was a wonderful weekend.

Monday: We went to Gordman's for the first time. Lily and I got some matching skirts! Then we of course had to go to Walmart. We bought Lily a car dvd player! Yay! It has already paid itself off. The car rides are much more peaceful. Michael and I also started a couch to 5K program this week. Today was our first day. We both did great!

Tuesday:  Did a little spring cleaning (we still have a long way to go there) and watched the BYU game at the Maloufs.

Wednesday: We went to the zoo!!! We had a blast. Lily was very excited about all the animals. The animals were all very active too! They must be excited for spring as well. After the zoo we went and got a pizza from The Pie to go and ate it at a table outside of U of U. Yum!

Watching those silly sea lions swim by.

Love her curls!

don't you just love her hat?

Thursday: We went to a fun park by our house. It's nice to have it so close! Lily loved the baby swings.
Loved the swing!

Daddy almost fits

Later that night my parents watched Lily for us so Michael and I could go to the Melting Pot! We went to celebrate our anniversary of 9 years of dating. Yes, I have been with Michael for a third of my life! It has been the best part of my life, for sure. I am so lucky to have him! Thanks Caryn, for setting us up that fateful Tuesday night when we met at Movies 8, played freeze tag at a park, and had Coldstone ice cream!

In heaven!

9 Years Ago We Had Our First Date!!!

Friday: we ran some errands and then ate dinner at Meltyway Grilled Cheese Gourmet! It was pretty good, but I think I like Michael's homemade ones best. Later that night we watched Les Miserables while eating Orange Leaf frozen yogurt! Michael hadn't seen it yet. I love that movie.

Saturday: Lots of conference of course. Lily and I hung out with my sister Jana while Michael was at Priesthood Session with his dad and brother. We went to fashion place mall and a couple other stores.
All dressed up

Last Day: more conference and dinner with the Maloufs. Always fun to go there.

We will miss Michael! But summer is coming soon :)

14 Months old!

Animal Sounds: Lily does some cute animal sounds! She does "aaaaa" for sheep and "ack ack" for duck "oof oof" for dog, "ooh ooh ooh" for monkey.

Sign Language: Lily signs: please, thank you, more, all done, wash hands, brush teeth, cracker, hat, eat, milk, kitty, dog, bunny, bear, potty, hurt, banana, baby, bird, fish, clean, flower, grass, ball, mama, dada, grandma, grandpa, outside, potty/poop, monkey (this is our favorite because she bounces up and down and kind of hang swings her arms while going "ooh ooh ooh"). That is more than 30 signs!

Body parts: Lily loves to point to her own nose and everyone else's nose. She points to her hair, her eyes, her mouth, her ears, her tummy, and feet with some help.

Talking; Lily says "IIIIIIIII" for bye, ma ma, da da, please, soft, all done, hi, bloon for balloon, doll for ball, baby, no, no no (nose), yes, kkk (for milk),

Walking: Lily is a professional walker now! Its getting harder to keep up with her. This girl likes to be everywhere and is always busy and moving. She pretty much runs.

Eating: Lily loves quesodillas, toast, bagels, english muffins, bananas, crackers, cookies, muffins, oatmeal, pureed veggies, fruits, french fries (who doesn't?), fish crackers, fig newtons, and pretty much everything we are eating she wants to try too!

The doctor was worried about her weight. She suggested giving her carnation drink mix with her milk, slathering butter on everything, having her eat lots of high calorie meats, and food like avacados. We are trying! She doesn't much care for the carnation. She likes her milk plain. I am trying to feed her more often to see if that helps too. So instead of 4 times a day we do 5 or 6.
Lily in Grandma Stoker's high chair.

Drinking: We are down to one bottle a day and the rest are sippy cups of milk/water. She still has a bottle of milk before bed. I dropped the dinner bottle first, then lunch, then breakfast and replaced them with just a sippy cup of milk with her meal.

Teeth: still only 2 little pearls on her bottom!

Illness: Lily had a horrible March. First she had a cough/flu. Then that turned into croup, then that turned into a double ear infection! We went to the doctor 3 times in a week! She lost her voice from screaming so much because her ears hurt so bad. She kept doing the sign "hurt". It was the saddest thing ever :( Then a couple days after she stopped taking her antibiotic her ear infection came back along with hives all over her body :( Poor girl! So now she is on Augmenten which is a super strong antibiotic and Benadryl. Hopefully she gets rid of her illness once and for all!

Sleep: HER SLEEP WAS HORRIBLE THIS MONTH! Her illness kept her up a lot :(. Then she got used to getting up and hanging out with me in the middle of the night so she just didn't want to do it! Her naps were crazy too. About 80% of March she only took one nap a day instead of two. I don't know if this is because she is ready and wanting to go to one nap or if it was just thrown off by her illness. I guess I will keep trying to do 2 for a couple more weeks before I really switch to one. She seems too little to just have one nap! And I don't think I'm ready for just one either!

Daylight Savings Time: We decided to just have Lily's schedule change so she would be the same but going to bed an hour "later". So now instead of going to bed at 7, she goes to bed at 8 and wakes up at 8. We figured it would be easier for the summer months to go to bed a bit later and then when daylight savings happens again she will just go to bed at 7 again :).

Walks: We got lily a cute new pink jeep stroller and she loves it. We also got her some pink goggle sunglasses so she can really be cool when we be strollin'! She loves being outside. She hardly even relaxes in the stroller, just looks around at everything and signs everything she sees.

Playing: Lily is so good at playing independently. As long as I am nearby she is happy to play with her toys alone. She often brings me books to read her or toys or wants to feed me or clean my face as well as her babies and bears. She loves to destroy things. She likes to just go King Kong on her Little People Castle and house and just throw all the little people out of it and the beds and chairs and anything else that comes off. She loves playing with balls too. She is so fun to watch!

Social Butterfly: Lily loves people! She has to wave and say hi and blow kisses to everyone! She is only scared of her 3 tall boy cousins, Andrew, Jaren, and Kaden. They are all over 6 feet tall bean poles and for some reason when she sees them she runs to Michael or I and hides :)

Fish: Lily got some pet fish to help cheer her up while she was sick. We bought 3 of them at Animal Arc. We named them Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Sadly, Hermione died just 2 days after bringing her home. Ron died of grief for his lost love just a few days after. Now only Harry is left (well we think it is Harry. Now we are wondering if it is really Voldemort and he killed Ron and Hermione). We'll see how long he lasts. I don't think we will be replacing them any time soon. They kind of gross us out. Michael has to move them when he eats so he can't see them.
Harry and Ron. Hermione has already passed on here.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

First Ponytail!

Snuggles: Lily is still so sweet. She loves to come and hug my legs now when I'm in the kitchen cooking. Or if she is scared she will come and hide in my legs. She gives us lots of kisses. Michael will lay on the floor and pretend to cry and Lily sits right by his head and puts her little arm around his neck and gives him lots of kisses :)

We love our little baby! I guess she isn't a baby anymore =( ! We love our little Toddler!

Easter!

We had a fun Easter Weekend! We started it off on Friday by going on the Easter Train in Heber with our friends Brad and Amber and their kids and some of Amber's family. It was really cute! They had a petting zoo. Lily loved the bunnies and the pigs. She actually loved all of them. She kept going "moo" to the baby calves and "aaaa" to the goats. They also had little chicks!

Lily is obsessed with bunnies, so it was a real treat for her to get to meet The Easter Bunny!

The Heber Creeper train was about a 45 minute ride. They played Easter music and the Easter Bunny danced around with the kids and gave them all an egg. Lily loves Amber. She wanted to sit with her most of the time :). Poor Amber never gets a break from kids!

When it was over we got to have some more train fun by eating at Dairy Keen! Yum!
Lily riding there. She was NOT happy the last ten minutes or so.

Then on Saturday we did Easter with my family, the Stokers! We always start off by eating and it is always a delicious array of food! Ham, lots of salads and rolls and my favorite, deviled eggs. Then we did our Easter Egg Hunt. Each kid got to pick up 25 eggs. Lily got about 11 :) She loved picking up the eggs! She would pretend to put them in her basket but then always keep it. She likes to fake us out like that! She would hold as many as she could until one or two dropped and then I could put them in her basket. After awhile we just started throwing the ones she dropped so she could pick it up again. It was such a warm, sunny, beautiful day! After the hunt we did the "Egg Roll". It is set up in brackets March Madness style and 2 people roll hard boiled eggs at each other. The person whose egg doesn't crack moves onto the next level. I won my first round against Kaden, my nephew, but lost the 2nd round against my brother-in-law Grant who had already defeated Michael in the first round. My niece Katie ended up being the victor! It was fun! Then dessert. I made cadbury egg cookies from Our Best Bites website. They were all gone before we left!

The Egg Hunters! Note: This is only half of the grandkids my parents have!

This is the same tire swing my Dad used to push me in! She thought it was pretty fun.

Daddy will protect me!

Sunday morning we gave Lily her basket from the Easter bunny! She got Princess Rapunzel and Tiana Little People and a new book and a new bunny. We went to the Malouf's after church. We ate another delicious dinner on a cutely decorated table (of course). Then we did another Easter Egg Hunt. There were all kinds of fun things in Lily's eggs. Little People toys, goldfish bags, and dollar bills! Then Renee gave each of us a golden egg with a hint telling us where their Easter Basket was! Lily's said "Daddy's treasures were here".  We found her Easter Basket in the closet of his bedroom. She got all kinds of adorable clothes and some fun books and toys! It was a wonderful Christmas-I mean Easter for Lily :).  Michael and I also got some Easter presents, my favorite being a bunny jar to hold my cadbury eggs :). Craig and Renee sure love to spoil us. It was also our nephew Jack's birthday so we took some time for him to open some more presents and sing to him and had cake and ice cream then the kids colored some eggs. It was a great time.

I think Easter has been Lily's favorite holiday so far because she loves bunnies, and she loves Easter Eggs!
