The Malouf Family: April 2015

The weekend before Easter we got the party started by going to this fun event where there was the Easter Bunny, the Frozen characters, Cosmo, Bounce Houses, face painting, cotton candy, and easter egg hunt, all for free! Plus you could get lunch and stuff too. Lily loved the bounce houses but was terrified of the characters so only Lucy got pictures with them! We waited in line for like an hour to get her face painted but she sure made a pretty butterfly! She got a few eggs and got to play with her buddy Makadie and I got to see my buddy Shani :). It was a fun day and helped get us all excited for Easter!

Easter fell on General Conference weekend. I decided I do no like them on the same weekend! I like focusing on conference and I like focusing on Easter. Too hard to do both at the same time! Michael had to leave the Stoker Easter party early to go to Priesthood session so he missed out on some of my family's traditions of the Egg Roll and the Easter Egg Hunt. It was still a fun weekend and spiritual of course!

On Saturday morning before conference, Michael distracted Lily in her room while I hid clues from the Easter Bunny leading to her basket. I opened her bedroom door and told her excitedly that I had seen the Easter Bunny and I think I saw him leave something in her kitchen in the hallway! She gasped and ran to her toy kitchen and found the first egg in the sink. Inside was a note that said, "Happy Easter! To find your Easter basket follow the clues! The next clue is where you take a bath." So she ran to the bathtub and found her next egg which lead her to her Minnie Mouse potty in our other upstairs bathroom, Then that lead her to where she eats breakfast, and then to where she puts dirty dishes, and then to where she watches movies and eats popcorn, then to where Daddy sits and looks at his computer and then to where we put our shoes on. The last clue lead her to our downstairs bathroom. When she opened the door she put her little hands up to her mouth and danced around and was so excited! She got the most adorable princess bike with some princess dresses and a princess nightlight and some peeps and playdough. Lucy was asleep so we gave her her basket when she woke up. She got a purple bunny, some baby food, and a baby brush and comb (which Lily stole). Lily loved her presents from the Easter Bunny and I had so much fun doing the clues and watching her reactions. Holidays are so much more fun with kids! I didn't take any pictures or videos of her finding her Easter basket! Darn it!

Lily watched conference with us while playing with her new Easter stuff and eating some candy from the eggs she found on an Easter egg hunt we did Friday with some of the neighborhood kids at the dinosaur park and Lucy woke up and played with her new bunny. They were actually pretty good. During the afternoon session the girls were asleep (well Lucy was part of the time then she hung out with us) but I was multitasking making food for my family dinner so I still need to relisten to a couple of talks.

At 4 we went to my mom's and we colored some eggs, ate a delicious feast, had a fun Easter egg hunt, did the Egg roll (Holly won!) and played outside. Michael went with his dad and brothers to priesthood and then went to visit his mom in the hospital afterwards =(. Poor Renee did not have a very fun Easter Conference Weekend. On Sunday we watched conference at home and finished our cinnamon rolls I always make for conference now and then at 4 went over to Chris and Alison's house for a yummy Easter feast and another Easter Egg hunt and also a celebration for Jack's birthday. We had a lot of yummy honey baked ham which I found out I love. Poor Renee was not feeling well so she had to miss out. She loves birthdays and holidays so you know she's sick when she can't party with us! We sure missed her.

It was also Spring Break right after Easter. Our favorite week of the year! Michael let me take a nap every day which was so nice. It was a good trade off. He sleeps in, I get a nap later. We did some fun things over the break.

We took the girls to classic skating so Lily could try out her new bike. She loves that place for all the bounce houses and slides and stuff too.

We also went to Farm Country. Lucy was really excited about the animals and wanted to touch them. Lily was a little more reserved but both girls enjoyed it.

Michael and I got to go on a date just us as well. My parents watched the girls while we went to Teppenyakis and then went grocery shopping without kids! We used to make fun of people who went to the store on their dates and now that is what we do ha ha. I think once you have kids the definition of a date is anything without your kids!

It was a fun Spring Break! Can't wait for Summer!

Potty Training!

On Tuesday March 10th, Lily decided she was ready to go pee pee on her Minnie Mouse potty! We had just gotten home from my parent's house and my mom had asked her when she was going to go on the potty and she had given her some cute Frozen underwear. This must have finally convinced Lily because when we got home she ran straight upstairs, took off her clothes and peed on her potty! She went pee like 15 times! We started a sticker chart and she got 2 stickers for every time she went pee and 1 for just trying if she didn't pee. When she goes poop she gets 5 stickers (but she didn't do that on the first day). During her nap and at bedtime I put her in a pullup and called them her "Just in case big girl underwear". I am so proud of her!

April 5th Update: Lily is not potty trained! She wears pull ups all the time and goes on the potty a lot but also pees and poops in her pull-ups a lot. She is more of a potty practicer. Hopefully soon we will both be ready for her to be in real underwear again! Now she gets a skittle or an m&m everytime she goes pee on the potty and 2 if she poops. She actually has pooped on it a couple times.

St. Patrick's Day kind of snuck up on me. I didn't realize it was the day until lunchtime when I saw everyone's posts on facebooks of them doing cute things for their kids. I decided some green eggs and milk for lunch would have to do for us! I also put some green dye in the toilet and told Lily a leprechaun peed in there. She was kind of freaked out about that ha ha. I said maybe next year we can catch one and get some gold from him! She said, "No that's not nice. Its his gold" Maybe the leprechauns will just be nice and leave her some if she is good! That is if I remember...

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Lily and I went on a mommy/daughter date to see Cinderella with Lily's best buddies Sophie and Lily Gregory. The girls looked so pretty in their Cinderella dresses!

Amber took me on a BFF date for my belated birthday present to see Insurgent! She brought ice cream, cadburry eggs and dirty Dr. Peppers! It was awesome.

We watched the movie in these luxury recliners that had seater heates and were soooo comfy! We were also in Imax 3D!

The AZ Stokers came up to Utah for their Spring Break. Its always so fun when Ryan and Jayme and their 5 adorable boys are in town. Lots of games, laughing, and yummy food!
