February 2015

February is such a fun month. First we have Lily's birthday, then Valentine's, then my birthday, and finally Michael's birthday! Lots of celebration! This month was beautiful outside as well and we were finally all healthy for the month for the most part so it was a great month.

My superstar talented niece Holly photographed my girls for Lily's 3 year pictures and Lucy's 6 months. We did them on Center street in Provo and then some at Provo Library and they turned out gorgeous! Lily looks like a little model! Lucy was kind of grumpy that day from teething but still was just so cute. We make some gorgeous girls. Good thing I know Tae Kwon Do so I can scare off the boys ;) Here is a preview. More are coming which I will dedicate a whole post to!

Valentine's Day was an interesting one! We decided to go out the following Monday to Ruth's Chris (YUM!) so on Saturday I decided I would make Michael a romantic steak dinner after the girls were in bed. Well 7:30 rolls around, the girls are finally in bed and I go to get the steaks out of the fridge only they aren't there! Then I see the jumble of shopping bags on the counter. I left them out all day! So I run to the store get some more and by the time I'm back home Lucy is awake again in Michael's arms. By the time I change her, feed her, and get her in bed again its 8:30. I had skipped lunch so I was starving and getting light headed. Luckily I had made Michael some heart shaped rice krispie treats for his valentine so I ate a bit of that for energy and resumed cooking. Next thing we know the house is filled with smoke because I burned the oil. In the end the dinner turned out tasty we just didn't eat until after 9. We had Steak Marsala, Wedge Salad, Steak Fries, and then for dessert chocolate melting cake with ice cream. Then we watched a funny movie, "What If" and had a great rest of the night. Michael was able to keep me laughing about it. Michael got me some pretty flowers and a sweet card and also donuts for breakfast. What a sweetheart!

I only have eyes for you, Valentine!

We celebrated the February birthdays with my family on the 15th. I got to make Lily an Elsa cake! It was so fun. I baked 5 of those little aquamarine blue funffetti cakes (so really like 2 1/2 cakes) in the bowl of my kitchen aid. It took like an hour and a 1/2 to cook and once it cooled stuck the Elsa Barbie in and started frosting. I found some blue sixlets to put on it too. I chose the meal- Chicken breaded with Ritz Crackers mmmmmmmmmmmm, yummy. My sister and I share a birthday and we both married guys whose birthdays are in February. must be a Picses thing :)

On Presidents Day Michael and I dropped the girls off with Craig and Renee and went to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Salt Lake. Its so good. Michael says he never sees me as animated about something as I am about their food ha ha. Melt in your mouth delicious steak and shrimp. Yummy salads and potatoes, and the dessert is super tasty too. You get free ones for your birthday so we got 2 free desserts! If you go to Costco you can buy $100 gift card for $80 so that's what we did, plus you can get an early bird dinner before 6:30 for cheaper. It was worth every penny. Happy Birthday and Valentine's to me! Michael spoiled me on my birthday lettine me buy some new clothes and he got me a cool curling wand and a straightener. We went out to dinner at Savory and Sweet with our friends and ate yummy crepes.

Lucy turned 7 months on the 18th! She got 3 teeth this month! 2 on the bottom and 1 on top. She is also working on another top tooth. She is not an easy teether. Maybe because she is so much younger than Lily was and she was getting them all at the same time. We had lots of late night screaming and middle of the night snuggles to help her feel better. She learned how to roll both ways well finally and can also sit up on her own great! She is really dexterous with her hands and is good at manipulating objects. She is very vocal saying "Mamamamam" a lot and lots other vowel sounds and growls. We do sign language before she eats and she does the "all done" sign all the time. I thing she just likes twisting her hands. Lucy tried lots of new food this month. She can now eat: rice cereal and oatmeal, sweet potatoes (she loves those), bananas, squash, peaches, apples, carrots, and avocados and green beans. She is still a very chill and happy baby (when she isn't teething) and has the cutest laugh that lights up her whole face. She has a giant bald patch in the back of her head that will hopefully start growing in now she doesn't spend so much time on her back. I didn't take her 7 month pictures yet! I will post those as soon as I do!

I went to Puppy Barn with my niece Holly and her boys and my sister and mom were there for a bit too. It made my puppy hungry! After playing with the puppies Holly and I got a quick bite to eat at Gandolfos and then went to a park. Its so nice to have kids close to my niece's kids age to play with. Holly and I were very close growing up so its fun to see our kids grow close as well!

Michael's birthday was on the 26th. We celebrated by going to Buffalo Wild Wings wtih Brad and Amber on his birthday. For his birthday present he wanted to build himself a new computer so he did that and I preordered a game for him and got him some special made cookies. We celebrated our birthdays and Reynie's with his family the Sunday before that and got spoiled as well.

on the 28th we did a birthday lunch with my family at Pei Wei! We had 18 people there! We took up half the restraunt. Its my favorite place! I'm glad so many could come to celebrate me, Judy, Grant, Michael, and Sharlene!

After Pei Wei Michael and I took the girls to Kitty City and Dawgtown in Murray to play with the cats and dogs.
