Lily and I went to Witches Night Out at Gardner's Village with my sisters Jana and Tina and my nieces Holly (and her son Bentz), Katie, Cece, Marisa, and Shanee. It was our first experience there and we had a lot of fun!
On Saturday the 26th we celebrated Halloween and Emmy's birthday with the Maloufs. It was a lot of fun. Lily and I missed the beginning since she was taking a long nap where they carved pumpkins. We came just in time for some delicious cheeseburgers. Then we played a game, opened presents, and ate some yummy cake and ice cream. Renee sent us home with some yummy treats and of course cute Halloween decorations.
On Sunday it was my niece's farewell talk for her mission. Katie did a great job! We had to get there before 9 am in Springville! It was an early morning but we did it! We had a Halloween party later that day as well. My family goes all out on their costumes! There isn't any messing around there! I love how we are a bunch of nerds :) We also celebrated a couple October birthdays at the party as well! Needless to say, we were exhausted when we left and I'm sure our hosts were even more so! But it was fun.

On Monday the 28th we went on a Halloween Cruise on the Provo River. They had over 100 pumpkins carved and lit up along the water with lots of Halloween lights and music. Our boat captain told us the story of "Sleepy Hollow" and a pirate even came and talked to us in a canoe. It was a little cold, and it rained at the end, but it was still fun and cute. Lily started crying halfway through and kept saying "ow". I thought she was saying "out" or "owl". When we got in the car I realized her arm was hurting and she wouldn't use it. The same arm she has had nursemaid's elbow on in the past where it pops out of joint. Our friend Brad playfully swung her in the air by her arm just like he does with his little kids who are the same size. Lily's arm just can't take it. So on the way home we stopped at urgent care and they popped it back in pretty quickly. While we were there I asked the doctor to check her ears just in case. Sure enough, an ear infection! At least we killed 2 birds with 1 stone! Lily was so much happier after the doctor fixed her arm!
On Wednesday the 30th we went to storytime at the library where Lily got to hear some spooky stories and they even got to trick-or-treat there. Then later that day it was our Halloween Piano Recital! The kids and some of the adults dressed up and performed their spooky songs. I made ghost cookies, 2 kinds of cupcakes, and brought some Halloween treats. The performers each got a little goody bag and an award for their hard work. It was fun!

Then later that night Michael and I did one of our Halloween traditions: We watched Trick or Treat and carved our pumpkins.
On Halloween Lily and I went to Freedom Elementary's Halloween Parade since I still have 5th and 6th graders there that I taught in 3rd. Once your kids, always your kids :) We met Amber there and her cute trio!
Then we went over to Timberline to visit Daddy! We even got to watch him teach for the last few minutes of one of his classes. Even on Halloween he is an amazing teacher. He had them share spooky stories they wrote and they class anonymously voted on a winner. He also gave a prize to the best costume. He showed them a clip about zombie carrots that cracked me up. You can tell his kids adore him. Lily liked being his assistant.
Later we all went "trick-or-treating". Lily doesn't really care about it too much yet so we just went to visit my parents, our friends the Stapley's, Aunt Diane and David, and the Maloufs! She still got plenty of candy!

It was a fun holiday! I'm glad we have Thanksgiving around the corner and Christmas coming up too! We love the holidays around here.
